We will be switching over the Portal to a new, mobile-friendly user interface in the coming weeks.

New Functionality
Instituted a new look and feel.
We've changed the default look and behavior of the fire portal. We wanted to make navigation easier and more intuative.

Added the Developers Blog
Traditionaly we had let the information trickle out through our offices or by allowing our customers to stumble on the changes. We felt that perhaps there could be a better way of doing things.

Added an error tracking system
Gone is the ugly page that gives you little to no information about what has just happened. Brand new error page that allows you to submit an error report to our staff when you run into a problem.

Current Development Cycle
Priority High: Better Instructor Integration
Instructors will be able to do more through the portal than just see their rosters and print reports. We will be adding the ability to submit grades and kick off the billing process.

Firefighter role expansion We have heard you loud and clear... expanded roles will be added soon as well as the ability to be assigned to multiple roles. Are you a Firefighter, Training Officer, Chaplin, and Fire Inspector? Your roles will be able to encompass all of that.

Item level permissions
In the spirit of the expanded roles we've come to understand that no one out there has a cookie cutter role within the fire departments. Many people wear many hats and our current permission levels are too restrictive for many departments. Therefore we will allow the Chiefs and Administrators the ability to change a firefighters permissions based not on the roles but on their own individual permission sets.
